General F.A.Qs

There is no “Best” military branch. All branches play a roll and have dedicated roles and responsibilities to protecting/serving our country. It’s up to the individual joining to decide which branch benefits them

Combat deployments since the withdraw from Afghanistan are slim to none since the United States isnt directly involved with any public conflicts. However Special Operations Forces, Combat Arms, and Intelligence Jobs have the highest likelihood currently of seeing any deployments and/or combat due to high operational tempo’s.

The best way to prepare for basic training is eating healthy, running every other day, body weight excersises daily, drink lots of water, and get plenty of sleep. Alot of people think you need to take cold showers, ruck march for 10 miles and sleep 2 hours a night to get ready. This would only hurt you, bootcamp is supposed to transition you from civilian to soldier, training and testing your ability to handle difficult situations mentally and physically so show up in good shape and allow the drill sergeants to do the rest.

When talking to a recruiter you should ask them for pamphlets that show all the military jobs that branch has to offer or you should have a idea of what you wanna do and ask what your options are. DO NOT allow a recruiter to push you towards a job your not familiar or comfortable with as recruiters are trying to fill “needs of the military” (jobs that have to be filled). So if your not sure of what you want to do dont allow them to fill you into a job that you will hate for the next 4 years. I highly recommend you talk to all military branches and see what they have to offer as you may find certain jobs that may interest you that are not available in other military branches.

I personally believe the Military is something everyone should experience as it takes you places, gives you experiences and skills that will put you ahead of your peers when you leave. I own everything that I am to the military, it was 100% worth it.
