Do you need a tour guide for Victoria Falls? ›

You don't need a guide to view the falls, but you'll need to pay the single entry fee, which is currently $30 for adults on both sides. You can also get good views from the Victoria Falls Bridge, which crosses the Zambezi just below the falls. The bridge links Zimbabwe and Zambia and border posts lie at either end.

If you book a guided Tour of the Falls, your tour operator will pickup and drop you off from your hotel/lodge. But if you want to do a self guided tour, then you will have to make your own way there.

Victoria Falls Travel by ** Air **

Victoria Falls Airport (Zimbabwe) and Livingstone Airport (Zambia) are the closest to the Falls themselves. But, you can also fly into Kasane Airport (Botswana), and take an hour long road transfer into Victoria Falls town (this road transfer does involve a border crossing).

The Falls can be approached from the town of Livingstone by travelling south on Mosi-oa-Tunya Road for about 11km / 6.8mi . Just before the border, there is a turning to the right that leads to a parking area. Walks all around the Falls are accessible from this point.
