Das Whaleboat C23 Hochsee-Ruderboot wurde entworfen, damit es Sie selbst unter anspruchvollsten Bedingungen sicher und trocken hält. Wenn Sie das Abenteuer Hochsee lockt oder Sie die grossen Flüsse und Meere dieser Welt erkunden möchten, ist dieses Model genau das Richtige für Sie. Bei einer Besatzung von 3 Personen gibt es noch immer mehr als genügend Raum für Rucksäcke, Sicherheitsmaterial, Zelt, Anker und vieles mehr.

Qualität
Für das Whaleboat C23 verwenden wir nur die besten Materialien: Aluminium von Marinequalität, Lager aus rostfreiem Stahl, Räder aus Polyurethan und Kohlenfaser für Rumf und Deck.
Die Sandwichbauweise „Karbon/Epoxy/Schaum“ schafft das steifste und leichteste Boot, mit einem Gewicht von nur 70 Kilogramm.
Durch ein Vakuuminfusionsverfahren wird das Verhältnis von Harz zu Fasern optimiert und Schwachstellen (Lufteinschlüsse) werden eliminiert. Dadurch entsteht ein überragendes Endprodukt.
Sicherheit
Die Breite des Bootes C23 ermöglicht ein enspannteres Rudern bei hoher See.
Die Freibordhöhe wurde so konzipiert, dass die Ruderer besser gegen Wind und Wellen geschützt sind.
Sechs wasserdichte Luftkammern sorgen dafür, dass das Boot noch treibt, selbst wenn das Wasser bis zum Dollbord steht.
Ein Bootsdesign ohne Ausleger reduziert das Unfallrisiko.
Das hohe, aufgefächerte Bugschiff verhindert das Eintauchen des Bootes und hebt es hoch bei hohen Wellen.
Der lange Mittelteil wurde entworfen, um Wildwasser aufzunehmen und das Gleichgewicht tief und in der Mitte zu halten.
Durch Selbstentwässerung wird der Mittelteil schnell wasserfrei. Mit einer optionalen Pumpe kann dies noch schneller erreicht werden.
Einfachheit
Eine grösse für Alles: Nur eine Sorte Schraubenzieher ist nötig für das Klarmachen des Bootes. Da brauchen Sie Ihre Werkstatt also nicht mitzubringen…
Vollständiger Schutz beim Andocken: eine integrierte Gummischiene rund um das Boot agiert als Stoßdämpfer.
Keine Sorgen auf dem Weg zum neuen Abenteuer. Die starken Transportösen aus Edelstahl machen den Transport deines wertvollen Bootes eine einfache Aufgabe: keinen Ärger mit Seilen um die Ausleger oder andere komplizierte Konstruktionen.
Die Edelstahl-Dollen sind unzerstörbar und unkompliziert.

By the end of the summer they pushed off from a Corsican beach and started their adventure.
Tom, being a professional mountain guide, understands the importance of communication and back-up, so he asked his mom Lien, an avid, life-long sailor herself, to function as safety officer, following along on land by car.
Rowing around any island, big or small, is a serious business, demanding a profound knowledge of the local currents, rock formations, hazardous winds and specific, unusual weather patterns. Painfully demonstrated by the hurricane that hit Corsica only days before they set off!
Prepared for the worse, they loved every bit of the adventure, and so did mom and the dog!

Throwback to when I was rowing alone to Papua (2018) and realised how lucky I was to be there. I was suffering in the heat for 6 hours non stop rowing (50°C) and still had to do another 3 hours. I learnt over the years to enjoy the moment, even while suffering. Mainly by not taking it for granted that I`m there and standing still to look around and see the beauty around me. #secutec7summits

Meet our new model of the Whaleboat C23 open ocean rowboat, specifically developed to handle large waves and incoming surf. Minimalistically designed, without batteries nor bilgepumps. Just a flush deck and a bunch of holes in the sides make her perfectly self bailing, while traveling light (at just 70 kilos) We recently tested her on the Atlantic, along the coast of South Portugal, rowing multiple day trips. She proved to be fast and reliable, easy to handle on a beach, while still providing the familiar C23 capacity to carry lots of gear, like tents, food, cameras and safety gear. We rowed, surfed that clean Atlantic swell, played in the waves, visited beaches that are only accessible from the sea. Jelle chose a Whaleboat C23 rowing boat for the Indonesia leg of the challenge, to reach Carstensz Pyramid in Papua. 🚣🏻♀️ We crossed the Channel from Dover to Wissant i.e. 24,75 nautical miles in 4,5 hours at an average speed of 5.5 knots (nautical miles per hour). The equivalent is about 45 kilometres. 🚣🏻♀️ We are super proud of our performance and all this wouldn’t have been possible without these awesome rowing mates (Lieve, robinsoubry and nicogreant), this beast of a rowing boat (designed and built by koendegezelle), our rowing club unbruxelles for all the precious tips and endless hours of training, the logistics team and our friends and families! 🙌
And yes we are sipping champagne on the finishing line, how about that? 🥂🍾 ...
